Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 3 Begins Earlier Than Expected

Activision made an announcement that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 3 is now to be released on April 2, one day earlier than initially planned from its initial announcement release date. Although still later than the original proposed date for March 20, the advance start provides players with a 24-hour free trial of the new season before Warzone Season 3 comes online on April 3.

Black Ops 6 Season 3 Release Time and Free Trial

Black Ops 6 Season 3 will go live worldwide at:

9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM CET on April 2.

The patch will be accompanied by a one-day free trial attached to it so new gamers can dive right in and have a taste of the new content before they hand over their money and buy. That is the franchise’s record-low free trial price after similar promotions during December 2024 and February 2025.

Warzone Gears Up for Season 3 Release

Warzone is going offline for 24 hours before the April 3 release of its own Season 3 update. Activision is attributing backend maintenance and getting ready for new content as the reason for the brief downtime. As a consolation, any Warzone player who enters the main menu during the downtime will receive the Kilo 141 assault rifle for free.

Though the Kilo 141 is not the strongest weapon in Warzone, its 751 RPM, 28 damage per shot, and 639ms time-to-kill make it a decent close-range option.

What’s Next for Black Ops 6?

With Black Ops 6 now in Season 3, the game is in its mid-cycle. Activision had already confirmed that Black Ops 6 will get six seasons in total, so Season 4 or 5 later on might coincide with the announcement of the next Call of Duty game in 2025.

For now, there is much excitement among fans waiting for Season 3 to get new maps, modes, and weapons, although the full information will be disclosed on March 27 when Activision makes official the roadmap of the new content.

Playground Games Confirms 15-to-20 Hour Campaign for Fable Reboot Playground Games has confirmed that the upcoming Fable reboot will feature a mainline story lasting between 15 and 20 hours. Speaking during a group press session at Gamescom 2026, associate game director Will Kennedy outlined the scope of the project, stating that the central questline is paired with a similar 15-to-20-hour block of side quests and open-world exploration. Beyond authored content, the developers emphasized that the title’s simulation and life systems allow for indefinite play depending on player investment. Full coverage of the interview context can be found in Polygon’s developer Q&A. This targeted duration keeps the reboot in line with the structure of Lionhead Studios' original trilogy rather than the massive scale of modern role-playing games. The 2004 original averaged roughly 12.5 hours for its main path, while Fable II and Fable III clocked in at approximately 13 and 13.5 hours respectively. By keeping the core path concise, Playground Games appears focused on density and narrative pacing rather than padding out the experience with mandatory filler. Community reception to the announcement has leaned positive, particularly among veteran players who prefer tightly structured campaigns over 100-hour commitments. As discussed in a active Reddit community thread, many players welcomed the focused runtime, noting that the series' signature alignment shifts and choice-driven paths naturally encourage multiple playthroughs. The game’s optional activities will include property ownership, local employment, and dynamic NPC interactions, extending gameplay well past the main story credits. Following previous delays, Fable is scheduled to launch on February 23, 2027, for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
