Punk Runner for PC is an amazing racing game that is pretty reminiscent of the F-Zero franchise. Fans of the aforementioned series may want to check it out, in case they need the itch for speed scratched. This amazing blend combines the cyberpunk aesthetic with some interesting physics. We at Infinite Start will digest what this interesting title has to offer.
In the future, cars fly
The creator behind Punk Runner, Max Parata, wants to give players on PC another amazing indie title. This time, a racing title focused on cyberpunk aesthetics and Japanese cars. This title is heavily inspired in the Need For Speed series. There’s also other elements from other titles such as F-Zero added into the mix. The most important tidbit of Punk Runner, is the fact that cars will handle very different than other games.
The physics of Punk Runner are specifically tailored to give the player the feel that they control something unique. Oftentimes, games present flying cars in a very science fiction-y approach, typically depicted as ships. However, Max Parata imagined a way these cars would work, and they are very similar to the real deal. The thing is that, since these cars fly, turbines have to be installed where the wheels would go.
This difference is crucial for handling, as it is clear from what the game shows that races will be chaotic. After all, the game will focus on the street racing sub genre, a genre that is making a big comeback. The title has been in development for a while, the Itch.io page being up since the year 2023. It is amazing to see variety popping up on seemingly dead genres, and many are excited for Punk Runner’s release. We at Infinite Start will cover the game in depth once it properly releases out of Early Access.
