The Aethermancer Demo has dropped on PC and so far, it looks and plays pretty good. Garnering an overall positive reception, we can expect lots of success coming from this new indie game project. It is so nice to see the monster taming genre being blended with rouge like. It takes you back to the older days of Dragon Quest Monsters on the Game Boy Color having some rouge like elements. We at Infinite Start will cover our expectations for this new title.
Gotta rogue them all
The indie group moi rai games has previously developed Monster Sanctuary, a title that is a really ambitious of monster taming and metroidvania. However, they have suffered under the guise of Team17, an abusive publisher that does not deserve any of the money it garnered from this title. Now, this new title is being published by another entity called offbrand games. Being this a small publisher, it is less likely that they will do something hideous to the people behind the Aethermancer Demo project.
It is important to always do the best choice when purchasing something. While it is true that ethical consumption becomes harder each day, one can try to stay alert. We have to support indie titles to try and keep the gaming hobby alive, so we need to protect it from greed and corruption. This new title seems like the prime opportunity to support the hardworking people of moi rai games in their new ambition.
Indies with ambition behind them are often quite successful, as originality and new ideas bring more reasons to play this titles. In the midst of live service slop flooding the market, it is so very nice to see these kinds of projects flourish. Therefore, it is essential to try and support these ideas so we can see more of them in the future.
