Insomniac Silent on Wolverine’s possible Release Window on 2025

In a recent interview with Variety, Insomniac Games’ Ryan Schneider, Chad Dezern and Jen Huang have chosen to stay silent on the possible release window of their upcoming next big game, which is based on Marvel’s Wolverine. While they did assure the fans that they would ” love to talk more about Wolverine” but for the time being, they have to “remain very stoic” like the titular character of their upcoming game. The devs didn’t say anything about whether the game will come out in 2025 or even next year, stating this instead:

“We’ve announced Wolverine, and we’d love to talk more about Wolverine, but we have to be like Logan today, and remain very stoic until it’s time to pop the claws down the road. As much as we’re as much as we have pent up excitement, we got to hold on to it. So that’s, that’s about as much as we could say about our upcoming projects today.”

So even if Wolverine’s release window remains up in the air as of now, the added development time also implies Insomniac’s dedication and resolve to make the Wolverine as great as they possibly can. They’ve already perfected Spider-Man in videogames but as Wolverine has significantly different set of abilities and powers, a game based on Logan would be much more of a challenge for the devs, and that’s why the time needed is simply essential to make sure they get it right in every way.

Because as a character, Spider-Man’s abilities fit perfectly within the frame of an Open World setting where he can web swing his way around the world but as Wolverine’s abilities are quite different, the game would demand a significantly altered approach in terms of design towards making it, all of which requires more time to polish and perfect.

There hasn’t been any official information on Insomnicac’s upcoming Wolverine game except for a shift in leadership that took place back in October 2024.
