Dragon Age: The Veilguard may just have received it’s Final Major Update

Developer Bioware has just released a new patch for Dragon Age: The Veilguard and have suggested via the patch notes that this might be the last major update for their recently released Action RPG.

The new patch 5 includes a number of bug fixes besides just one quality-of-life improvement for the game, while also containing a thankful note to the fans for playing and supporting Dragon Age: The Veilguard for the past few months after it’s release. The Devs have clearly stated that they are indeed happy with the game’s stability at launch and they will also be monitoring for any huge, game-breaking bugs should those occur in future.

“Thank you all for playing Dragon Age: The Veilguard; we were so happy with the game’s stability at launch and hope you have enjoyed our Quality of Life patches since then,” BioWare stated. “With the game being in a stable place, we are moving to monitor for any game-breaking bugs should those occur. Dareth shiral!”

While there’s no direct confirmation from Bioware, but the fact that they will continue to monitor the game for bugs does suggest that players shouldn’t wait for any other new content for the game. Also “Dareth shiral” which is the ending words of Patch 5, clearly means farewell or safe journey in the game’s Elvish language. So yes it does actually sound like a goodbye to all fans of the game.

Also if there were indeed plans for any story-related DLCs or other bonus contents, EA and Bioware would’ve confirmed it long ago as it’s already been more than two months since the game’s release. The seemingly empty state of The Veilguard’s post-release lineup is particularly odd as all the earlier title in the Dragon Age series have seen tons of story DLC’s and Expansion packs after their release.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard was released on October 31, 2024 to generally favorable reviews from critics. The game’s combat and characters received praise from critics and gamers alike.
