Lifeline map draws attention to Highjacked

Black Ops 6 Season 2’s New Lifeline Map Compares to BO2’s Highjacked Map

As Black Ops 6 fans warm up for an exciting Season 2 launch on January 28, Activision and Treyarch have revealed a series of new content coming to the game, including the much-anticipated multiplayer map Lifeline. Lifeline is a 6v6/2v2 map set on a small yacht. Its reveal has drawn immediate comparisons to the Hijacked map from Black Ops 2, although Treyarch has confirmed there’s no direct connection.

The noteworthy resemblance of Lifeline to the Hijacked map has fans eager to explore Lifeline’s fast-paced, close-quarters gameplay. The map’s layout and setting on a luxurious yacht promise to deliver an intense, action-packed experience reminiscent of its predecessor. While Hijacked made a return in Black Ops Cold War, its appearance in Black Ops 6 remains uncertain.

Season 2 also reintroduces another beloved Black Ops 2 map, Grind. This skate park-themed battleground, which first appeared in the Revolution DLC, will debut mid-season as a 6v6 remaster. Grind has long been a fan favorite, having previously returned in Black Ops 4. Treyarch has teased an additional surprise related to Grind later in the season, leaving players curious about what’s to come.

On the Warzone front, content for Season 2 is expected to be lighter due to ongoing issues with cheats and bugs. Activision has prioritized gameplay fixes and quality-of-life improvements, with new Ranked Play rewards and the Reactive Armor perk set to launch on January 28. Another perk is planned for mid-season, but new maps and major content updates for Warzone will be limited for now.

Additionally, Treyarch has hinted at a “rip-roaring projectile armament” to be introduced later in the season. Speculation among players points to the return of the D13 Sector, a fan-favorite special weapon from Black Ops 3 known for its ricocheting discs capable of eliminating multiple enemies.

With two maps launching at the start of the season, five in total planned, and a range of new weapons and modes, Black Ops 6 Season 2 promises to deliver exciting content for multiplayer fans. For the full breakdown of upcoming updates, visit the official Call of Duty blog.
