Later today, MultiVersus is getting a substantial update, which finally adds Stripe from Gremlins and introduces a limited time Halloween event.

  • Alternate Costume

Not much is currently known about Stripe, but it is confirmed he will use a chainsaw, has a gun projectile, has a fast hit combo and is considered an assassin. He will be available for purchase for 2,000 Gold, 1 Character Ticket, or 700 Gleamium and will launch with the Combat Stripe, priced at 800 Gleamium.

After the update, MultiVersus will start its first Halloween event. It will run until Nov. 15 and have a variety of exclusive cosmetics to purchase or earn. These include the highly anticipated Black Lantern Superman and Wonder Woman skins, which are priced at 2,000 Gleamium each. There will also be a costume for Tom and Jerry, The Iron Giant and Velma for Gleamium as well.

Along with those, the event also has four items that can be purchased with candy, a currency you can earn by playing MultiVersus. These include the following items:

Pumpkin Patch Profile Icon = 150 Candy

Jack-O-Lantern Emote Sticker = 500 Candy

Mummy Reindog Epic Variant = 3,000 Candy

Calico Cake Epic Variant = 12,000 Candy

Exchange your Candy for Gold!

For those curious how much playtime is needed, Reddit user BoltexGaming converted the figures to wins. Without any boosts, it will take approximately 150 wins to earn Reindog’s skin and another 600 for Jake. Those who earn Reindog’s first can use it to decrease the amount of wins needed for Jake to 300. Finally, for those playing with partner with the skin it will take 75 for Reindog and 300 for Jake, with it decreasing to 50 and 200 if both players are using a skin. So it will take a fair number of matches, but you do have about a month to do them.

This patch also includes the divisive anti-infinite system change. It was mentioned about a week ago, with the hopes it will limit certain infinite combos. Players have some concerns, though we will see how this plays out when it goes live and these changes are in full effect. You can read the detail of these changes below:

Anti-Infinite System: We’ve lowered the same attack limit from 4 to 3. Using the same attack 3 times in the same hitstun combo will now decay the attack and all subsequent attacks in the combo. The goal is to put a global soft-cap on infinite combos and make combos more creative (rather than the same attacks over and over). We hope the change pushes players to explore new and more exciting combo routes instead of the same few attacks looped together. We will be paying careful attention to this system and as always we appreciate your feedback!

Dodge Meter System: We’ve increased the time it takes to regain ticks of the dodge meter. This is to promote more deliberate action and management of the dodge meter. The goal is to increase the importance of the dodge meter and thereby increase the importance of perks affecting the dodge meter as well.

Finally, this update will add Lady Rainicorn as an announcer for 300 Gleamium and a number of character balances. Those interested can find the full list of character changes here.
