IllFonic announced their recently out of early access third person shooter Arcadegeddon will get a physical edition Aug. 30, 2022 for PlayStation 4/5 and Xbox Series for $29.99.

The physical edition will include the game, along with “advanced access to rare content,” which the press release describes as a “rare” outfit and cosmetics. Unfortunately, no further information was given, but not a bad bonus considering this is the same price as online and costumes are in the $5 range.

If you haven’t heard of Arcadegeddon, it’s currently available to PlayStation Plus subscribers for free, and you can find our official review here. You can also find the official overview below:

Arcadegeddon introduces players to Gilly, owner of one of the last remaining arcades in Super City who is trying to save his business from a faceless mega corporation. In a last-ditch effort, he takes each of the top arcade games and combines them to make a super game. Unfortunately, Fun Fun Co. catches wind of this and injects the game with a virus. Players must fight against the virus and save the last hometown arcade.

This ever-evolving multiplayer shooter lets players:

Rise up and Play – Gamers can play solo or join with up to three additional players to explore multiple biomes, play through mini games, find hidden chests, and defeat numerous enemies and bosses.

Save the Arcade – Player’s battle through hordes of enemies to save the super game and the last arcade in town.

Experience All New Co-op – The game provides a mix of PVE and PVP experiences allowing for all different speeds of play as well as crossplay for all platforms.

Fight an Evil Virus – Fun Fun Co. owned enemies and the Data Daemons/glitches have taken over Gilly’s game; players must face off against an onslaught of bad guys to save the day.

Make Friends Along the Way – There are 12 different gangs to interact with in the arcade. Players will unlock leaders as they progress through Arcadegeddon. Each leader has a unique style and set of challenges to unlock unique gang cosmetics and Power Tokens that can be spent on new Surge Abilities and Plugins.

Press Release

Currently, Arcadegeddon is available digitally for PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series and PC and the physical edition can be preordered from either Best Buy or Target.
