Trailers make BPM: Bullets Per Minute look rather interesting. I don’t know if I would say it portrays the experience as easy or hard, though playing it can absolutely be a challenge. There are many elements to consider, overcome, and most importantly, adapt to. This can result in many deaths, but we’re here to help with a beginner’s guide to BPM: Bullets Per Minute.

A Beginners Guide to BPM: Bullets Per Minute

There is No Shame in Playing on Easy

Skilled players, especially those in the FPS genre, tend to look down on easy modes and settings. It makes sense, certain games make easy out to be easier than shooting fish in a barrel. For better or worse, BPM: Bullets Per Minute is not one of those games.

On easy you can easily die to any two hits, it just makes things feel a bit more accessible. This makes it extremely easy to learn, with rhythm detection and auto rhythm still not being enough to make the experience easy, just more manageable. Remember, this is a new experience. There is no shame in having to practice before you’re able to dominate these new worlds. Even in practice, in the lowest setting, you can still die, lose or struggle.

Try Other Valkyries

Only two of the characters are locked behind difficult walls. The first is Odr, followed by Run. Everyone else can be unlocked through easy or even practice mode. I bring this up because difficulty varies based on the character in question. Even if Göll is the most accessible character, I had more success with Freyr, thanks to his powerful starting gun. Other characters might have skills, weapons, or abilities that better match your play style.

Listen To Everything and Consider Headphones

BPM: Bullets Per Minute has a lot of audio cues designed to make the experience seamless. You can hear when enemies are getting ready to attack, knowing when you’re low on ammo, or even when attacks are coming. The sooner you start paying attention to it, the sooner you’ll be better equipped to win.

Power is Important

Unlike some games, power is a very important tool in BPM: Bullets Per Minute. Rapid-fire guns might make it easier to hit foes, you’ll often perform better with a strong weapon instead. This limits how long you’ll deal with certain foes or problematic situations.

Pay Attention to the Mini-Map

Key locations, shops, and other important items are conveyed via the mini-map. This can make it extremely easy to skip unimportant rooms, focus on finding your objective, or just plan out your resources. The sooner you realize these elements exist the better.
