Prepare to battle across Eternia in the upcoming He-Man: Dragon Pearl of Destruction which is an 80’s style fun arcade beat-em-up made with colorful sprites that greatly manages to capture the look and feel of the original cartoon show that came out around the same time. So if you grew up with the cartoon or if you love He-Man, this could be a must-play for you but even if you haven’t, the upcoming title can still be a worthwhile trip down memory lane to a more honest, fun and less expensive era of videogames. Check out the trailer below:
He-Man: Dragon Pearl of Destruction features a total of 12 stages where you’ll be able to play as any of four characters: He-Man, She-Ra, Man-At-Arms and Teela. There’s also local co-op which means your friend(s) will also be able to join you and hop into the action at any time which would make the overall gameplay feel more alive and closer to the animated show.
Here’s a brief synapsis of the game: “He-Man, Teela, and Man-At-Arms do battle over 12 sprawling and diverse levels of non-stop action, armed with a host of moves, abilities, and power-ups as they work to stop Skeletor’s ancient ritual that threatens to plunge Eternia into darkness!”
And besides exciting melee combat, He-Man: Dragon Pearl of Destruction also lets you unleash magical attacks and devastating special moves for each characters which are as spectacular to watch as gleeful to play with. Playing with friends in local co-op will also double your total battling power and make each fight even more satisfying and fun, which is exactly what videogames of that bygone era embodied.
He-Man: Dragon Pearl of Destruction is set to release digitally on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC on April 28.
Lastly, this isn’t the only He-Man content you’ll get this year as the live action movie Masters of the Universe will also make way to theaters this summer, which means 2026 is all set to be a great time for all He-Man fans.
