Despite GTA 6 looming on the horizon in 2026, Microsoft intends to launch a total of four massive titles this year which is impressively ambitious. And what makes Microsoft’s plan perfectly sensible, even for a year when the next Grand Theft Auto is scheduled to release, is the nature of the games themselves where there’s one Racing title (the upcoming Forza Horizon 6), a third person shooter (Gears of War: E-Day), a medieval open world fantasy RPG (Fable) and lastly, a remake of a much older game (Halo: Campaign Evolved) with all of them going for vastly different flavor of experiences than GTA.
And that’s why, they are pretty much safe to release this year without any chance of clashing with the biggest game of all time, provided they move out of it’s way by releasing well before GTA 6’s launch window which is exactly what Microsoft intends.
Forza Horizon 6 is currently scheduled for a May release along with Halo: Campaign Evolved which is also set for a summer release. And the new Fable plus Gears of War: E-Day both primed for a fall release, while staying out of GTA 6’s way, of course.
Additionally, there’s also reports of a Fallout 3 remaster currently at works which, according to a report from The Verge, Bethesda intends to polish thoroughly akin to their highly successful Oblivion remaster in last year. So if you’re a fan of Fallout 3 which was a pivotal entry in the series in more ways than one, keep an eye out for this one in 2026.
However, there’s one game that we haven’t seen anything from yet and it’s the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day which is set to be the most ambitious title in the franchise. So we may get a full reveal in the coming weeks as Microsoft is yet to provide a full gameplay showcase since it was first revealed back in June 2024.
