Fortnite has decided to make a bold move that not many of us expected, although based on how they tried to push this as a creator platform the fact that they added third-party micro transactions will only make things worse. It is already happening, a ton of so called “creators” are starting to put price tags on virtual items on the “games” they created. This is terrible, and everyone hates this aside from the people profiting from these schemes, who often target kids that aren’t the supervision of their parents. I will show you a case where this is happening right now.
Fortnite pulls a Roblox
Fortnite used to be semi tolerable many years ago, but now it has become yet another platform that will devolve into the illegal mess that Roblox has become. As time goes on, and if you see how Tim Sweeney himself acts with his current comments about X’s Grok “AI” Chatbot, it is obvious that exploitation of their users is on the cards. We all know who plays Fortnite most of the time, and it is often people who aren’t even old enough to be playing these games in the first place. Things will only get worse from now own for Epic’s once popular Battle Royale game.
The “creator” of a “game” in the platform, Steal the Brainrot, which obviously is filled with “AI” generated garbage that makes Elsa Gate content look passable, is already monetizing all of the stolen assets thanks to this big update. Fortnite will never be the same, and if I have to be honest, since they dropped Darth Vader’s “AI” voice in it I already saw the mark in the wall of a game that has died. The future of triple A is using games as a “creator” platform, so that way you can get in a closed economy similar to what NFTs tried to push.
