With this year’s Xbox Developer Direct event just weeks away, Microsoft has confirmed the first three games that will be featured at the annual event which are legit AAA heavy hitters that ought to be major head turners when they release. Scheduled to go live on Thursday, January 22 at 1pm ET/10am/6pm UK, the Xbox Developer Direct will offer players a first look at several upcoming first-party games from Xbox Game Studios as well as some hotly anticipated third-party titles.
Some of the most acclaimed games of 2025 was showcased at last year’s Xbox Developer Direct which include Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Doom: The Dark Ages and Ninja Gaiden 4 and with Xbox celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, there’s a lot to look forward at this year’s Developer Direct event as well.
And according to Microsoft, the three titles are the next Fable, Forza Horizon 6 and Beast of Reincarnation which will be getting extended first looks during this year’s Xbox Developer Direct. And of course, among the three, Forza Horizon 6 is the biggest game to watch out for which was first unveiled at Tokyo Game Show last year and is expected for a full gameplay reveal during the upcoming annual Xbox event.
“Presented by the game creators themselves, Developer_Direct will once again give you an inside look at not just the games, but the studios working to bring them to life,” Joe Skrebels, Xbox Wire editor-in-chief, stated. “Fittingly for Xbox’s 25th anniversary year, that includes the return of some of our most legendary franchises, which rub shoulders with a brand new title from one of Japan’s most beloved studios.“
Developer Playground Games had also confirmed earlier that Forza Horizon 6 will feature the biggest map ever seen in the series, along with a host of activities for players to engage in. However, it seems graphically there may not be as big of an improvement than Forza Horizon 5 as both are part of the same console generation.
