Another hotly anticipated title just got delayed (besides GTA 6), and it’s the upcoming Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra which has been pushed from it’s early 2026 release window to a currently unknown date, only referred to as “beyond early 2026.” Skydance Games announced the delay on Twitter/X with an official statement saying: “Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is an ambitious project, and we are committed to ensuring it meets the level of quality that our team, players, and fans expect.”
“To fully realize our vision for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, we’ve made the decision to shift our release window beyond early 2026. We’re grateful for the passion and support from the community and players around the world.”
However, the devs didn’t announce any new release window but hopefully they do so pretty soon as the upcoming game doesn’t actually have a lot of content for players to get through the wait including gameplay footage or more. Also, the new launch date could possibly be in the summer or the spring of 2026 cause as GTA 6 got a new (and hopefully final) release window in November next year, it makes sense that Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will be released way before then, cause every developer would like to move out of GTA’s way in 2026, including Insomniac’s Wolverine which is currently set for a fall release next year.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is an upcoming story-driven action adventure title that puts players in the shoes of four playable characters ranging from Captain America, the Black Panther of the 1940s, Gabriel Jones of the Howling Commandos, and Nanali, a Wakandan spy based in Occupied Paris. The game is set during World War II in Nazi-occupied Paris but will take players in a grand and globe trotting adventure including places such as Wakanda and more. The game is expected to offer a fresh take on the usual Marvel flavor we’ve come to love from the films and other videogames which is both exciting and promising.
