Whiskerwood got a new trailer to celebrate the fact that it recently launched. This new PC game is being developed by a Japanese studio called Minakata Dynamics, and it does not look like a Japanese game at all stylistically. Maybe its the concept of Mice and Cat that gives that vibe but if it wasn’t for the name of the studio, I wouldn’t have realized they are actually Japanese, I would have thought they are rather European. Leaving this aside this game feels like a perfect fit for those who seek more games similar to Timberborn but with a twist.
Whiskerwood released today
You should check out this new title as it includes all the staples of the genre, including the automation part that many people love to delve into. Games like Factorio, Sim City, and other simulators like this have charmed people for generations and they are still doing so. Here we play as Mice who try to assemble on uncharted territory to try and survive from the threat of cats. To do this, we will have to do more town building things and get some automation systems going on to ensure things can run smoothly.
Much to the like of many games in the genre, this is pretty much Rimworld mixed with Tom And Jerry according to some reviewers in the Steam platform, and that truly fits. Japan loves Tom and Jerry, and Whiskerwood seems to be a proper love letter to this fact, so if you are interesting playing more games that are city builders and also are focused on cute animals doing cute things, perhaps Whiskerwood is the game for you. The team is rather new at making games, so if you wanna show your support and cannot buy the game yet you should add it to your wishlist right now.
