If you’ve loved some of the earlier games in the iconic Battlefield series such as Battlefield: Bad Company 2, you’ll be glad to know that the upcoming and highly anticipated Battlefield 6 is heavy inspired by the decade old title, in more ways than one. According to a recent interview with PC Gamer, Battlefield 6 producer Jeremy Chubb has said that the fan favorite Battlefield: Bad Company 2 was an example of excellence in the series and also admitted that a lot of which made the earlier game so great actually went missing in the previous title, Battlefield 2042.
“When you look for excellence in our legacy, [Bad Company 2] is where you find it,” Chubb stated.
“That game particularly delivered on a level of fidelity and a sort of intimate destructive experience,” Chubb continued. “Blasting out a single wall, bringing down a partial building, or entire buildings. It was comprehensive, and it felt like the identity of that game more than anything else.
“We know that was kind of missing from our last game, and we really wanted to go back to that.”
It’s definitely reassuring to hear that the older Bad Company 2, which many fans and players alike consider one of the peaks in the series, has a lot of influence on Battlefield 6 which could possibly have everything that was great about the older title while taking it all to whole new levels of awe and technical wonders. The incredibly realistic destruction gameplay is definitely a faithful nod to Bad Company 2, which also plays a key role in the upcoming game in many ways.
And the great thing is we don’t need to wait too long to find out just how much of Bad Company 2’s DNA is present in Battlefield 6 as the open beta for the upcoming first person shooter is set to go live on August 7 and will run for 48 hours. The beta will be live for another 48 hours on both August 9 and August 14 so you’ll have complete hands-on experience on how many ways Bad Company 2 has influenced Battlefield 6.
Battlefield 6 is slated to be released on October 10.
