Capcom’s majority of Digital Sales come from PC in 2025

Capcom is raking in that cash that comes from selling digital copies on PC. In fact, their earnings on digital games sold are mostly coming from PC players, who have no option but to renounce to their ownership rights since everything is digital. The unfortunate reality is that not many seem to care about owning the stuff they buy, and still think they are safe from the consequences. The mentality of thinking that they will be exempt from issues is what has harmed the medium, removing our capacity to own things even when playing on console. We at Infinite Start will cover the problem of digital only titles.

Capcom earns more from digital

When digital purchases started becoming a thing, we were promised that game prices would be way cheaper. This would happen because the cost of manufacture would go down since you cut the cartridge or CD middleman. However, this never came to fruition, digital game prices still remained as high as those that were physical. This wouldn’t be that much of an issue if it weren’t for the fact that you don’t own your digital purchases.

Capcom, like many other companies, knows that fact and they have worked with plenty of companies that makes owning your games nothing but a pipe dream. It has been years since Capcom has partnered with Denuvo, the malware that prevents you from actually having the games you buy. People do not realize that by buying digital games, you are basically being robbed of your hard earned cash in case they use software like Denuvo.

Not to mention that people who “buy” or should I say rent these games actually suffers from performance issues that people who play these games for free don’t have to experience. It truly is worlds apart, and the experience can make or break a game. Denuvo does not care about art, neither does the executives at Capcom, they only care about the money.
