Valve‘s highly anticipated multiplayer game, Deadlock, has already become a target for cheaters even though it hasn’t been officially released. Currently in a closed beta phase, accessible only to select users, Deadlock has seen a surge in videos showcasing blatant cheating, from aimbots to wall hacks. Despite the game’s unfinished state and lack of competitive rewards, cheaters are already disrupting gameplay.
As reported on reddit, players have shared videos of users employing cheat software to gain an unfair advantage. In one instance, a player could bend bullets around a wall, while another showed unnaturally quick aiming using an aimbot. This has left the community baffled.
While it’s common for multiplayer games to face issues with cheating, the fact that Deadlock is still in its closed beta and primarily under the radar makes the situation unique. The game, which was only recently announced by Valve, does not yet have a release date or minimum system requirements listed on its Steam page. However, interest in Deadlock has been growing, with hours of leaked footage circulating on social media platforms prior to its official announcement.
Valve is yet to comment on the issue, but players are hopeful that the company will take swift action against these early cheaters as the game nears its full launch.
