Control Resonant came out on Thursday and has already proved itself as a highly enjoyable third person action adventure title, and according to developer Remedy, the game will receive a never-before-seen New Game ++ mode along with an extensive Photo mode, with both gameplay features bringing way more replayability and fun into the game.
The devs have detailed the New Game ++ mode in an official blog post and has described how the upcoming mode will change your repeat playthroughs of the game:
“The current version of New Game+ enables you to beat the game only once more, but we’re preparing an update that will add… wait for it… New Game++, which means you can start NG+ run after NG+ run, without needing to erase all your progress. Do 665 runs if you want!
NG++ should be arriving in October.”
The New Game Plus mode in other titles generally makes new playthroughs much more fun and satisfying by let you play a maxed-out character from an earlier point of the game, but it seems Control Resonant is going to take things to a whole new level, literally, and make newer playthroughs even more fun, possibly letting you cheese the game altogether.
The devs have also outlined the upcoming Photo mode for the game:
“Photo Mode is coming. Do we need to say anything more? We’ve seen the comments – we hear you, you want it, and we want to get it into your hands. The Photo Mode for CONTROL Resonant is something we’ve been cooking for a while. We even consulted some talented virtual photographers from the community to help us make it the best it can be. The reason Photo Mode didn’t release on launch is because we needed to prioritize making sure the game was in the best possible shape.
We’ve seen gorgeous virtual photographs you’ve already taken – but once the Photo Mode releases, you can really go to town.
We expect to release Photo Mode sometime in November.”
Control Resonant lets you play as Dylan Faden and take on a wide range of paranormal foes in a trippy, anti-gravity environment where you get to control a shapeshifting weapon titled ‘The Aberrant’. You’ll also be able to upgrade the weapon and unlock more forms and supernatural abilities that will provide a dynamic tool of exciting combat system which looks and feels pretty great and has the potential to be one of the most memorable videogame experiences this year.
