Following the release of it’s patch 1.4.1.5 on August 4, the devs had removed the popular Rush mode from Battlefield 6 and obviously, many player’s aren’t taking this well. The playlists for the mode, as well as several others like King of the Hill and Team Deathmatch, were removed from the game with no prior warning or fan communication and moreover, the modes were removed from custom searches too. However, developer Battlefield Studios has assured fans that they are currently exploring different ways of bringing it back, so yes you’ll likely see Rush added to the game again in the near future.
And according to the official Battlefield Comms social media account, the removal of Rush was done to “improve matchmaking quality by focusing players into the playlists seeing the most activity, creating more consistent matches that fill, and getting our players into the action faster.”
As you can guess, many veteran players of the Battlefield series are heavily disappointed with the removal of the staple mode from the game, as evident from several forums on Reddit and EA. Also, one player with around 500 hours of gameplay had even went as far as to request and eventually get a full refund of the Phantom Edition of Battlefield 6, and cited the removal of the fan-favorite mode as the sole reason.
“Battlefield Studios, you don’t get to remove the game modes I play and still keep my money,” ExplorEverythingOnce said on Reddit.
Battlefield Studios, however, has stated that they’re looking for ways to bring the removed modes back into matchmaking: “We’re closely monitoring the impact of these playlist changes and will continue making adjustments where they’re needed.”
The season 4 of Battlefield 6 featuring naval combat is currently on full swing with Phase 1: Pacific Front which brings the biggest map in the entire series named Tsuru Reef and Phase 2: Top Gun set to bring Wake Island (which is a highly reworked version of the Battlefield 5 map with added scale, systems, and other modernized updates) along with all the exciting crossover contents from August 18.
