Battlefield 6 is all set to take to both the skies and the seas at the same time with it’s upcoming Season 4 featuring full-scale Naval Warfare that’s unlike anything out there in the entire FPS genre right now, so it’s safe to say that the new season would likely be the best bet for getting EA’s flagship shooter back on it’s feet in terms of overall player counts.
And according to a new official post from the devs, the release date for the new Season has been revealed to be July 21 which is just a week from now, so if for some reason you stopped playing Battlefield 6 at some point, looking at this newly released gameplay trailer for the upcoming Season 4 featuring Naval Warfare might just cause you to get back right into the thick of the action again.
The post also highlights that the upcoming Season 4 will feature the largest map in the entire series, dynamic waves, new vehicles and weapons and full-scale warfare all across land, air, and sea. The gameplay trailer also makes it pretty clear that the new season will see Battlefield 6 getting as big as it possibly can, it’s hard to imagine how the devs can top it in Season 5 which will likely come out sometimes in fall this year.
There will be two new maps titled Tsuru Reef (a map set within a massive oceanfront space, surrounded by island terrain, beaches and lots of open water) and Wake Island which is a highly tweaked and reworked version of the Battlefield 5 map featuring added scale, systems, and other modernized updates. Plus, there will also be drivable boats so you can experience all the action and chaos in Battlefield 6’s naval warfare with breakneck intensity.
Besides Naval Warfare, the upcoming Season 4 will also add one of the highly requested features from the community in the form of Proximity Chat which will allow “a new layer of communication and tension into the Battlefield sandbox to create more emergent moments between squads, especially when positioning and awareness are key to how you play.”
