Looks like Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is off to a great start as the modernized remake of the 2013 title has reached 2 million sold units on it’s first day of release, which is significantly higher than what it’s predecessor Assassin’s Creed Shadows had managed to. In a new post on their social media, Ubisoft has confirmed the sales milestone for Resynced and stated the following:
“Dash my Buttons… Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has already passed 2 million copies sold!
Whether you’re sailing with us again, or stepping aboard the Jackdaw for the first time: THANK YOU from the bottom of ARR hearts.”
The launch of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced saw the game rise to the number one spot on Twitch while it’s concurrent player count on Steam got to a peak of 99,451 which is one of the highest from the long running franchise.
“Black Flag has always held a special place in the heart of the community, and ours.” Head of Assassin’s Creed brand Martin Schelling said in a new statement.
“Bringing it back with Resynced was a promise to that passion for Edward’s adventures, and to the unique sense of freedom players experienced back then. Seeing 2 million players set sail on day one, along with the great reviews from critics, is the greatest reward we could have hoped for.”
The hotly anticipated remake of the classic 2013 title features a heavily reworked combat system since the original would feel terribly out-of-place in the current-day era of gaming in more ways than one. The new combat mechanics feels a whole lot more fluid and smoother while also featuring a more intuitive HUD with two mini-menus in each bottom corner which allows for seamless switching between the different types of weapons and items.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced came out on 9th July for the Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game received mostly positive reviews from critics and players so far with an 84 Metacritic score which means the latest entry in Ubisoft’s long running franchise is definitely a win, for both the players and the publisher.
