Pocketpair has officially confirmed that Palworld will maintain its current $29.99 price tag when it transitions out of Early Access later this week. The decision, announced ahead of the highly anticipated 1.0 launch on July 10, comes as a surprise to many players who expected a standard price hike to account for the massive influx of launch day content.
The studio revealed that the flat pricing structure is a deliberate choice intended to thank early adopters who supported the multiplayer survival game through its initial development phase. Since its explosive debut in January 2024—which saw more than seven million copies sold in its first five days alone—the title has received several major expansions, including the Sakurajima update. Retaining the $29.99 baseline ensures the barrier to entry remains low for new players looking to join established co-op servers.
The upcoming 1.0 patch is set to introduce a substantial amount of content, with developer notes indicating a massive list of additions and systemic overhauls. Players can expect an entirely new landmass to explore, a revamped primary storyline, and overhauled Wildlife Sanctuaries that feature distinct ecosystems, rare monster variants, and tougher boss encounters. A variety of brand-new creatures, including Dupin, Solenne, Sekhmet, and Hoodle, will also be added to the game’s roster for capture and management.
While existing world data will technically remain compatible with the 1.0 build, Pocketpair is actively encouraging veterans to wipe their current progress and start fresh to properly experience the rebalanced progression and new narrative quests. To alleviate the sting of losing progress, the developer is utilizing the Global Palbox system, which allows players to securely transfer their existing monster collections across different world files on the same account.
By avoiding the current industry trend toward $70 and $80 price points, the indie developer is positioning Palworld as a highly competitive option in the crowded live-service and survival landscape. The full version launches this Friday across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms.
