DayZ 2 is going to be a reality, as confirmed by a small image “leak” that happened during a media event with streamers. This is huge for PC gamers, the original 2018 game was quite a huge success back in the day and it still kinda is today, a sequel just made the fan base even more happy. We don’t know any detail yet, aside from a potential logo that the game executable file might have. There’s no details on gameplay, plot or anything pertaining to the game aside from the fact that it will exist. When will this happen? Perhaps in 2027 if you ask me.

Fans of the original still have to hold their breaths, as we don’t know if they will do big changes to the game formula or if it will be a true sequel to things. This is why fans should get ready to keep their expectations tempered as stuff can shift during development and what was meant to be a sequel ends up being some weird spinoff nobody asked for. DayZ 2 just got pretty much announced today, and people didn’t have such revival in their bingo card, but it does make sense.
There has been a huge market for zombie based games lately thanks to the success of entries like Resident Evil Requiem, so for those who want realism DayZ, and maybe DayZ 2 when it releases, might be the best choice. It is crazy nobody cared to do a zombie game like this aside from the developers of Project Zomboid, but the fact that a key player in this zombie niche is making a return from the grave gives fans hope for something good. There’s still no Steam page either, so we will have to be patient and see how this story unfolds.
