Assassin’s Creed Hexe is the next huge mainline entry in the long running open world action adventure franchise which is set to bring a refreshingly different flavor of experience into the series by focusing on witchcraft and persecution. Touted to be the darkest entry to have ever emerged from the Assassin’s Creed series, the next title could include a rather unexpected wildcard in the form of Ezio Auditore, easily the most beloved and memorable protagonist in the entire franchise. According to a series of recent social media posts, the fan favorite character could be featured in Assassin’s Creed Hexe, which would instantly make the upcoming title a guaranteed hit among all fans.
The posts were made by a Ubisoft leaker and claim that Hexe’s protagonist, ‘Anika’, is a descendant of Claudia Auditore, Ezio’s sister who was featured in both Assassin’s Creed 2 and Brotherhood and was also mentioned in Revelations.
However, the real interesting claim is the next one which says: ‘Ezio is 100% returning.’
The posts also mention the following points which, if true, would be a great delight for all players of the older titles in the series:
“Anika/Elsa says, “That white hood, it’s like the one in my mother’s drawings” and there is dialogue from Ezio saying “She wanted you to have a life”
“More Ezio voicelines saying, “Come. Leap with me. One last time for an old man.” and “They always fear what they cannot control. They called us demons once, too. But remember, Elsa: ‘Nulla è reale, tutto è lecito.”
According to the rumors, Ezio will be guiding the new protagonist of Assassin’s Creed Hexe in some form like the ghostly visage of Altair from Assassin’s Creed Revelations or maybe in some other, more inventive way that we currently have no idea of, especially with the franchise stepping into themes of pure fantasy after Odyssey. Or Ezio may also be brought back via one of the Isu artifacts or some Animus glitch–but whatever forms it may take, if Ubisoft indeed pulls this off, it’ll be a real treat for all older fans of the franchise.
