The next season for Battlefield 6 is all set to kick off from May 12 and by the looks of the recently released trailer, it’s destined to take EA’s flagship shooter to the stratosphere and beyond with 2 new maps, a new mode named Obliteration, new weapons and attachments and more. And the biggest highlight among all the new contents is definitely the Railway to Golmud map which is the remastered version of the Golmud Railway map from Battlefield 4 and is the biggest map in the game yet, fully satisfying all players’ penchant for massive scale warfare that the series is known for.
Check out the newly released trailer here.
One of the biggest USPs of the Battlefield series is it’s huge, sprawling maps which provide massive scale warfare across both air and land via boots-on-the-ground gameplay and aerial vehicles like Jets. Since it came out last year, there have been some complaints regarding the maps of Battlefield 6 not being up to the level of it’s predecessors but the upcoming map is sure to fill that space permanently.
The Railway to Golmud map isn’t just a faithful recreation of the older version from Battlefield 4, it’s a fully modernized remake of the earlier map with new reworks and many quality-of-life changes to suit the current era of Battlefield.
Beside the new maps, there’s also three new attachments and four new weapons aimed to bring more range and flavor to your arsenal and they are the new L115 sniper rifle, the M16A4 assault rifle, a new LMG named RPK-74M and the new PP-19 SMG.
Moreover, there’s a new game mode titled Obliteration which ought to introduce new twists in the usual Battlefield 6 gameplay as well as the arrival of Ranked Battle Royale in Battlefield Redsec.
The upcoming season will also see a host of changes to vehicles in Battlefield 6 which will affect the amount of damage they can take as well as how much they can dish out plus many more. If you currently find vehicle combat to be a little lackluster in EA’s flagship shooter, it’s safe to say that you’re going to love all the new changes in the vehicles scheduled for season 3.
