ARC Raiders is getting review bombed, although it should get review bombed for the fact that it employs AI slop in artistic assets and maybe even the code of the game itself. Regardless, whatever the reception is of these live service games it does not really matter, as the people who put up with them barely have a proper sense of taste to know what makes a game matter. There’s a ton of amazing games to play yet some people just decide to opt for this one amidst the controversy and lack of quality control. It truly is scary to think of those people who believe this is the new normal to stand for.
ARC Raiders needs fixes
There’s a ton of fixes that should be done to ensure the game is of quality, firstly and most importantly is removing all AI assets from the game. Secondly, a real endgame is a necessity too because there’s no real reason to keep playing a game like this if there is no goal or motive behind it. Lately many live service games have fallen into the trap of just giving you stuff to grind but for no reason whatsoever, things need to end, and this is why the live service model is anti natural for gaming.
ARC Raiders is truly shaping up to be yet another flop of Concord proportions, however it will only cause the studio behind it to go offline rather than shaking the whole industry since its just another statistic in the great scheme of things, nothing worth of remembrance. Whatever Embark Studios does is upon them, they have the power to fix everything and make an amazing game, but they have shown that they would rather spend more time astroturfing instead of doing the right thing for the people.
