Cliff Bleszinski, the lead designer for the original Gears of War Trilogy, has recently expressed enthusiasm on the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day which is previously stated to be the most ambitious title in the series by developer The Coalition. In a recent interview with The Expansion Pass (through Idle Sloth), Bleszinski has said the following:
“I think they’re doing the whole go back to give the people what they want. I think the possibilities for cinematic moments are tremendous with that they’re doing. I got goosebumps when I saw, Marcus falling in that hand, went down and it end up being Dom. I think, they’re really, writing the ship.”
“You’re not going to be fighting those stupid robots or anything, it’s just going to be making the Locust scary again, and seeing Marcus, you know, struggle with just one Locust in that trailer, I think was brilliant. And I have high hopes for it and I can’t wait to see what they put out for it.”
If I like it, I’m going to be honest about it, and if I don’t like it, I got nothing to lose, to be honest.”
There’s also going to be a direct presentation on Gears of War: E-Day scheduled on June 7 which will feature a sumptuous 30 minutes of time allotted for the game, as confirmed by Xbox Chief Content Officer Matt Booty. The runtime will be more than sufficient for showcasing tons of new gameplay for the hotly anticipated third person shooter.
“I’ll say that we’ve got the Gears Direct coming, and after seeing that, we’ve probably got like a full 30 minutes, which is really great. And I don’t know. I just love everybody in that studio, the work they’re doing. I’m excited about the game, and we’re going to have a fantastic, full 30 minutes of stuff to see.”
So if you, like many Gears fan out there, were starving for some fresh new content in the iconic series, the upcoming Direct presentation event will definitely fill you up completely so make sure to tune in.
