Even though a part of it’s playerbase is dwindling and nowhere near the numbers seen during launch, Battlefield 6 is showing no signs of slowing down and in fact, this year will see EA’s flagship first person shooter bringing out all the big guns with gigantic maps which will delight every veteran player of the series, tons of new modes and then there’s Naval Combat–all of which has the potential to bring a massive resurgence in the overall player count, in more ways than one.
The full roadmap of Battlefield 6 has been revealed which is set to bring a plethora of exciting and legitimately great contents into the popular multiplayer shooter all throughout 2026.
Season 3 for Battlefield 6 will kick off from May and will feature two new maps–Railway to Golmud and Cairo Bazar while the former being a fully modernized version of the classic Battlefield 4 map named Golmud Railway with reworked areas and updated audio design. The Railway to Golmud map will also be approximately four times the size of the already huge Mirak Valley map, addressing longterm player demands for large, sprawling maps in an extremely satisfying way.
The Season 4 in Battlefield 6 will see two more maps named Tsuru Reef and Wake Island–along with full naval combat featuring a dynamic wave system that affects player aim, naval-based vehicles, aircraft carriers and naval challenges and rewards. With this much addition in gameplay, the fourth season could likely be when Battlefield 6 reaches it’s absolute peak and delivers a multiplayer shooter experience that’s pretty much unparalleled in several years, at least.
And lastly, season 5 will start sometimes in fall 2026 and will also bring three new maps but not much of that has been revealed at this moment with most of the contents currently being tested and polished in Battlefield Labs.
Aside from the new maps, there will also be tons of new modes including BR Solos, BR Ranked Play & Leaderboard, whole new weapons, and more. Plus there will be whole new gameplay features such as Proximity Chat, Platoons, Server Browser, and MP leaderboards besides a myriad of quality-of-life improvements like combat tuning, soldier visibility, matchmaking and more.
With this much great and diverse batch of new contents planned throughout 2026, the player counts in Battlefield 6 is expected to soar once again.
