A souped-up version of Sucker Punch’s latest action adventure game, titled Ghost of Yotei: Complete Edition is set to launch in October 1, featuring a whole new story expansion named Echoes of Sekigahara, a roguelike, survival mode and more. Ghost of Yotei was released in October last year and to celebrate the occasion, Andrew Goldfarb, senior communications manager at developer Sucker Punch Productions, has announced the new edition for their acclaimed title.
The official blog post has wrote the following regarding the new story content for the game: “Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara is our new narrative expansion. Split between the present day and flashbacks to Atsu’s time on the mainland, you’ll meet Nagato, a figure from Atsu’s past who has arrived in Ezo. In the present, you’ll explore a previously unseen valley once inhabited by The Snake and his gang of loyal followers, the Vipers. In the past, you’ll experience Atsu’s time in the Battle of Sekigahara and a key moment in her life before she returned home for her quest for vengeance. You’ll meet new enemies and find new heavy weapons, new armor sets, new dyes, and more.”
Meanwhile, the new single player survival mode is named Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted and according to Goldfarb, it’ll put a new spin on the traditional roguelike experience where you can accept bounties to start new runs, take down enemies, earn perks and unlock additional characters who features unique specialties such as Atsu with Dual Katana, Oyuki with kusarigama, and Nagato with Yari.
The Complete edition for Ghost of Yotei will also include all of the in-game contents that were part of the digital deluxe edition, along with the Charm of Hokkyokusei. Also, players who buy the game before September 30 will get an early unlock of the Sakai Armor in October, which is a throwback to the protagonist of Ghost of Tsushima.
Ghost of Yotei: Complete Edition will cost $69.99 USD and players who already own the base game can upgrade and get all of the additional contents for $14.99 USD. The Complete Edition also features new tracks for Watanabe Mode, new photo mode stamps, additional cosmetics for New Game+ and new Trophies for both Echoes of Sekigahara and the Most Wanted survival mode.
