Halo studios is being accused of committing a slew of unethical and unlawful acts by the Art Director of Halo Infinite along with another veteran developer of the iconic series. Glenn Israel, who has been part of the Halo franchise for 17 years, has stated in his LinkedIn posts that he had personally witnessed multiple unethical or unlawful acts done in the studio which include “blacklisting, fraud, rampant favoritism/cronyism (manifesting as hiring- and career-growth interference), and multiple harassment campaigns designed to provoke the constructive discharge of “unwanted” employees otherwise in good standing.”
He also states that he had filed several complaints with Microsoft’s HR but in response, “a senior Global Employee Relations (GER) representative threatened retaliation on first contact and promised to quash any further investigation.” He further states that the particular representative had engaged in a 4-day long harassment to make up a false cause for his termination in July 2025.
In another alarming post, he states that he suspects Microsoft regularly exploits to get rid of employees who file effective complaints, which suggest the company’s direct involvement in many unethical acts that goes on within the studios.
“I know that our industry is in truly dire straits now, but as a matter of public interest, I cannot in good conscience recommend seeking employment at this organization or continuing there if you have any other option. Your effort and expertise are not respected. You are not fairly compensated. If you refuse to engage in political gamesmanship, your career will stall; if you object, you will be forced out. I have the evidence – you are not safe.”
Some of the other staffs in the Halo studio have also responded to these posts and said that they’ve witnessed similar behavior themselves and multiple times, those have been done to them as well.
These allegations reveal a darker side of the industry that many may not be aware of till now and the fact that many corporations who control the gaming industry, are particularly shady in more ways than one including committing things that are downright unfair and unethical.
