Crimson Desert continues to thrive and has just hit a new peak in terms of concurrent player counts on Steam after the game received another update that brought a string of tweaks and improvements into the open world title. Patch 1.01.00 for Crimson Desert has just came out and contains a plethora of gameplay changes and tweaks that are guaranteed to elevate your gameplay experience in more ways than one. To give a few examples, the new patch improves the control scheme even further, making for a more smoother and intuitive moment-to-moment experience, decreased loading times during fast travel and revival, five surmountable mounts and many more.
And besides the above mentioned changes, the new patch also brings a myriad of smaller but meaningful adjustments that can really boost your enjoyment of Crimson Desert so make sure to get it as soon as you can. Check out the full patch notes here.
It’s also commendable how quickly Pearl Abyss is coming up with these game-changing updates that are helping Crimson Desert become an even better game in many ways, which really shows their commitment with the game and has resulted in an improvement in the game’s player ratings from ‘mixed’ to ‘very positive’. And as a result, Crimson Desert is also seeing a marked increase in the concurrent player ratings on Steam, hitting 276,261 players on Sunday which makes the open world title the third highest-played game on Steam, at least right now, behind Dota 2 and Counter-Strike 2.
And as all the player counts are only from the PC platform and doesn’t take the console versions of the game into account, it really goes without saying that the total player engagements of Crimson Desert is significantly higher. Also, the game is quickly headed for a total of 5 million sales units which is fitting, considering the ambitious nature of the title and how much it took to develop (Pearl Abyss has spent around 7 years and approx. $133 million for the making of Crimson Desert).
