Rockstar Games has reportedly sent emails to different actors of their upcoming GTA 6, the most anticipated videogame in history, as a reminder of their non-disclosure agreements (NDA) that they need to follow, at least till the game officially comes out on it’s release date. According to the host of the GTAVIoclock podcast, Rockstar has send out emails to all actors stating: “We would like to remind everyone to please remember your NDA. The date you may announce your involvement is still November 19th.”
The reminder from Rockstar is likely due to the recent confirmation of one of the actors for GTA 6, Stephen Root, who had admitted his involvement with the open world behemoth in an interview with The Associated Press, where he stated the following:
“Yeah, you’re gonna see me in it,” Root said. “It’s coming out November 19th, is the latest I know of. I think from the first rollout of GTA they were doing maybe almost a year ago they had my character in there. And there are too many people who knew me from King of the Hill and my voice! So I think that secret kind of got divulged then.”
And the in-game character that he’s voicing, is most likely named Brian Heder, who’s a drug trafficker and apparent boatyard owner seen speaking to protagonist Jason about paying rent in the second trailer of GTA 6. We’ve also seen more of the character in the Netflix extended look at GTA 6 where he offers Jason some words of advice, and knowing Rockstar’s intricate character focused storytelling, Heder may play a key role in the core narrative of the game.
However, due to the sent email to all voice actors by Rockstar, it’s clear that we won’t be hearing any new surprise involvements from real life actors before the official release of the game, which is fitting as only Rockstar can and should announce anything related to their upcoming title.
In other news of GTA 6, Rockstar has also recently issued mod guidelines for content creators and the studio stated: “Respect Our Games. Rockstar Games creates unique worlds, characters, and stories, which form the official continuity of our games. Like all creators, we have the right to set limits on how others can use our games and brand.” The developer also specifically said not to “expand modify Rockstar Games’ official storylines, plots, missions, characters, or other elements of our established continuity,” and in addition, not to create mods combining maps and other locations in the game which would distort multiple elements of the next Grand Theft Auto.
GTA 6 is currently slated to launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
