Destiny 2 is going to keep living because it seems that Marathon was a huge disaster for Bungie. Attempting to resurrect an old and obscure franchise from the 90s and making something that is hip and cool for the masses proves to be a huge fail. Not to mention that Sony has put tons of money into the game too, but Bungie has been ratting out lately considering that things aren’t going well at the studio. I genuinely wonder if this Destiny 2 revival is Bungie’s last push to remain alive, and if things don’t go well they will just end up dying for good.
Destiny 2 lives
I didn’t expect to see this, and this is some surprising news, vaulting content was a very baffling way of saying that they just made previous parts of the story inaccessible. Back in the day it was even revealed that some things weren’t in the value anymore and they were just deleted. Imagine, burning a ton of paintings for no reason whatsoever only for the sake to generate FOMO on people and force them to play the game. Even with all these tactics, Destiny 2 remains a disaster that does not deserve to be played.
Like any online game that is a live service, microtransactions are basically the main draw of the game, and you can even buy them right now. It is very silly to get into a game that is this predatory and old, yet people keep falling for the same scam again and again. Bungie also steals content from fledgling artists who are still trying to find their footing in the graphic design world, like what happened with most of Marathon’s designs and skins, only for it to be settled outside the court in quite a shady way. Maybe, Destiny 2 living will cause Bungie to live too.
