To celebrate the Summerslam event which is taking place on August 1 and 2 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, publisher 2K Sports and WWE have made the most recent entry to the popular wrestling series, WWE 2K26, completely free to play this weekend, albeit only on the PC and Xbox platforms.
From July 30 till August 2, if you’re on the Xbox Series X|S, you can just download and play WWE 2K26 for free and for players on Steam, there will be a few extra hours of playtime up to August 3 till 10am PT. So if you haven’t played WWE 2K26 yet or aren’t sure whether the latest entry in the popular sports entertainment videogame franchise is actually worth it over the previous one, the current deal gives you an opportunity to just try out the game for free for multiple days, so you can decide for yourself if you want to buy it or not.
Think of this time window as a period of getting a free trial of WWE 2K26, however, for gamers on the PC, you need to have a 2K account and log into it while playing along with a constant internet connection. And if you want to buy it after playing through the free weekend, all your progress will carry over to the purchased version seamlessly.
However, players on the Playstation 5 have to sit this one out, as the game is only available for free on the PC and the Xbox Series X|S this weekend and the only way to play WWE 2K26 on the PS5 is to buy the game.
WWE 2K26 came out on March 13 for all platforms and was met with mostly positive reviews from critics and players alike for it’s new additions over last year’s title. It’s got a rating of 7 from IGN, 8 from Gamespot and 3.5 out of 5 from GamesRadar+ among other review sites which indicate the game to be a worthwhile entry in the popular wrestling game franchise.
