Sega is bringing Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage to Xbox Game Pass on September 10, marking the enhanced fighting game’s official debut on PC alongside its addition to Microsoft’s subscription library. According to the producer letter posted on the official Virtua Fighter web portal, this newest revision of the 2006 arcade classic expands the modern Virtua Fighter experience for competitive and solo players alike.
The release comes equipped with notable features tailored to the modern fighting game community, most prominently the inclusion of rollback netcode and full cross-play support across platforms. The single-player component centres around the World Stage mode, which tasks players with battling CPU opponents programmed to mimic the exact strategies and playstyles of top-tier professional Virtua Fighter 5 competitors.
This upcoming addition further expands the fighting game catalog on Xbox Game Pass, joining prominent titles such as Mortal Kombat 1, Brawlhalla, and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2. Sega’s classic franchise has undergone several major overhauls throughout its multi-decade run, evolving from its original arcade and console roots through Final Showdown and Ultimate Showdown into its current R.E.V.O. iteration.
Subscribers on both Xbox consoles and PC will gain full access to the complete World Stage content package when the game unlocks on September 10.
