Developer Pearl Abyss has just announced Crimson Desert Enhanced, a new version of the open world action title with additional story elements designed to flesh out it’s narrative more than it was possible in the base game, and is available to all players for free. According to the devs, just update Crimson Desert to the newly released version 2.00.00 and you’ll receive the Enhanced Edition of the game which features “new story moments, expanded voice-over & language support, and including all post-launch updates and additions to date.”
Pearl Abyss has also provided a brief description of the new edition of Crimson Desert which includes the following:
- New cutscenes and story moments throughout the main questline
- Voice-over support for German, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Japanese
- Interface and subtitles support for Arabic
- All post-launch updates released to date
One of the biggest criticisms of Crimson Desert was it’s narrative which felt a bit lackluster compared to the other aspects of the open world experience and a couple months ago Pearl Abyss had announced a roadmap where they’d improve the core narrative experience with added cutscenes and dialogues, and the new Enhanced Edition upgrade is the culmination of those added improvements.
Crimson Desert is currently also available with a sizable 20% discount on Steam, so if you had missed out on the game when it came out, you can buy it for $56 for right now instead of it’s regular price of $70, and then upgrade to the Enhanced version for free.
Crimson Desert had surpassed a total of 6 million sold units worldwide in less than three months of it’s release and with more contents set to release throughout the year, the sales numbers are sure to grow even higher.
Pearl Abyss is currently working on an upcoming DLC for the game which may include whole-new naval gameplay sections as well as even possibilities for multiplayer modes, as told by the devs earlier this month.
