According to details shared by the leaker known as Rogue, the title will land on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, retailing at a standard price of $70 with Deluxe ($90) and Collector’s ($120) editions also planned. The leak suggests Ubisoft is preparing a marketing push that could culminate in a formal showing at Gamescom later this year, capitalizing on the massive commercial momentum of the recently launched Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
Unlike the sprawling, fully open-world RPGs that have defined the series’ recent history, Assassin’s Creed Hexe is described as a large-scale yet structurally linear adventure. The narrative centers on a protagonist named Annika amidst the paranoia of the historic Wurzburg Witch Trials. Players will travel between the key German urban centers of Wurzburg and Nuremberg, navigating a dense, expansive forest dotted with smaller villages that connects the two cities.
Mechanically, the game is said to blend classic franchise elements with modern engine upgrades. Parkour is reportedly receiving a major overhaul, designed to feel more advanced while channeling the fluid, manual style of the early games. Additionally, Hexe will revive and expand upon the “Fear System” originally introduced in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’s Jack the Ripper DLC. This mechanic allows Annika to terrify enemies, forcing hostile NPCs to panic, misfire their weapons, flee combat zones entirely, or ostracize outsiders.
Graphically, the game reportedly surpasses the visual fidelity of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, utilizing its advanced weather technology to generate dense, dynamic fog that plays directly into stealth and takedown mechanics.
