Mistfall Hunter is yet another extractions game, but instead of a shooter its an ARPG similar to the Dark Souls series. It is insane that they are making a game like this but it makes sense too considering what things are popular nowadays. PC is a wild platform that always gets the most insane games compared to consoles, the disparity is quite sad if you ask me. A trailer was released showcasing what we can expect from it, however you have to keep in mind that this might be a live service game with tons of changes, it does bring a new anti cheat with it too.
Mistfall Hunter looks cool
What keeps me intrigued is how they will implement online for other systems that aren’t Windows, judging by the fact that they seem to use an unique kernel level anti cheat system. Bellring Anti Cheat is pretty much something unknown and the fact that it will live in your computer raises a ton of questions and a tinge of paranoia. Considering this is the first game made by the company, I wonder how it will fare compared to other games out there, as the premise and offerings seem rather unique compared to other extraction games.
Mistfall Hunter might be quite similar to The Duskbloods by FromSoftware, of course it will have tons of differences but it would be weird if it wasn’t inspired by something that is popular right now. It will have to compete against games established before it, and trying to grab the attention of people as a multiplayer game is a pretty hard thing to accomplish nowadays. Considering fatigue for multiplayer games has settled in, I have a feeling that if things don’t go well, Mistfall Hunter will end up lost in the mist of a thousand games that release each day.
