The newly released Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will be getting the New Game Plus feature which is guaranteed to make your second playthroughs way more satisfying and refreshing, however it’s currently unknown as to when exactly it’ll be implemented into the game. In a new interview with GamesRadar, the director of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, Richard Knight, has revealed that a New Game Plus feature is in development and will possibly release at some point in the future.
“Yes, we’re working on that right now, for sure. It’s one of the first things. Partly because Shadows has already built their version, so it’s considered a low-risk feature for us. We’re still doing the work, so I can’t promise exactly a day or anything, but we’re definitely working on this one. It’s just such a natural thing,” he said.
So far, only the RPG-based Assassin’s Creed titles have the feature and as Black Flag is not an RPG in terms of it’s core gameplay experience, it’ll be interesting to see how the devs incorporate it into the game and how it manages to change your playthroughs. And although the dev hasn’t been able to give away a release window for the new feature, he has confirmed that New Game Plus is currently at the top of their priorities for Resynced.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has received considerable success upon release, selling over 2 million copies within the first day and generating a total of $35 million in terms of gross revenue for the developers, according to Alinea Analytics. The modernized version of 2013’s Black Flag has also received mostly positive reviews from critics and players so far with an 84 Metacritic score which means the latest entry in Ubisoft’s long running franchise is definitely a win, for both the players and the publisher.
The hotly anticipated remake of the classic 2013 title features a heavily reworked combat system since the original would feel terribly out-of-place in the current-day era of gaming in more ways than one. The new combat mechanics feels a whole lot more fluid and smoother while also featuring a more intuitive HUD with two mini-menus in each bottom corner which allows for seamless switching between the different types of weapons and items.
