WWE 2K26 is currently the latest entry in the WWE series of titles by 2K but it seems there may be several other variant of games for the sports entertainment sub-genre in the near future as it’s been confirmed that WWE had applied for two new gaming trademarks in May 2026. On 10th May, WWE filed to trademark the term named “WWE Superstar Scramble” and on May 18, the company successfully trademarked “WWE Hard Hitters.” Both trademarks also feature the same official description, which means they’ll be used for videogames, indicating future WWE titles for other platforms, perhaps.
“Trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of video and computer game tapes, video and computer game discs, video and computer game cassettes, video and computer game cartridges, video and computer game CD-roms, video output game machines for use with televisions; video and computer game software…”reads a part of the official trademark description.
WWE releases one title per year with the WWE 2K series of games which are also highly successful and are the best options currently if you want a hands-on experience that’s as close to the real thing as you can possibly get. However, the two new gaming trademarks could open new doors for different, curated level of experiences for a new demographics of players which is always welcome.
In other news of WWE games, developer Visual Concepts has recently added Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick as a playable character in WWE 2K26. The CEO also comes with his own commentary and uses Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” as his entrance theme, moreover, he can also be used in all the game modes as well.
However, you can’t customize his character from the in-game editor, also, his theme can’t be used for any other wrestlers.
WWE 2K26 came out on March 13 for all platforms and was met with mostly positive reviews from critics and players alike for it’s new additions over last year’s title.
