Solarpunk is out, and this is amazing for people who have been waiting for the game. This new PC game is meant to be cozy more than anything, yet it feels like it could do much more if they decided to add more things to the game. Players report that playing the demo and playing the full release feels rather weird, especially since they have removed the demo out of the store page. I don’t wanna assume wrongly, because I don’t think the developers have bad intentions, but it does seem odd considering that demos are meant to persist even if the game is out.
Solarpunk is out
Solarpunk is interesting, but its also held back by the Animal Crossing factor, once you put the game down you really feel like there’s no reason to return to it in the first place. It is a very cool concept, because its based in the idea of Solarpunk and this is perfectly reflected with the aesthetic of the game. However, everything falls apart when you realize there’s not enough content for something that is meant to be a finished release. Maybe this is intended, and it won’t be getting more patches in the future, but it would feel bad.
However, no developer is forced to be shackled to a quota of what amount of things should be done, at the very least they have made a post in the Steam Store page about the type of game this is, and who it is geared towards. This is something a ton of developers never do, so at least they are honest by laying the truth on the table so people can see if they like it or not. I personally don’t care much about this kinds of games, but if there’s developers who want to make stuff like Solarpunk, more power to them.
