The Amazon store page for Brazil has provided some tantalizing new details on some of the gameplay features for GTA 6 including the game’s social media system as well as how story missions will work with it’s dual protagonists. The additional in-game information revealed in the Brazilian store page is not matched by pages from any other territory, so you may want to take it with a pinch of salt.
The added information available in the Amazon store page for Brazil, when translated, is the following:
“INTEGRATED SOCIAL NETWORKS: Watch viral videos, follow influencers, and discover world events through your in-game mobile phone.”
If you’ve played GTA 5, you remember the Life Invader app which was an in-game parody on real life social media such as Facebook, along with Snapmatic which was a copy of Instagram and Bleeter as a replication of real-life Twitter. And as GTA 6 is exponentially more dense and rich in terms of both realism and depth, it was pretty much a given that the upcoming open world behemoth will have it’s own versions of social media that’s far more evolved and immersive than anything we’ve seen before.
However, it’ll definitely be interesting to see how Rockstar manages to outdo itself this time and perhaps we’ll see the in-game version of social media reflecting some of it’s real life counterparts in unexpected ways.
The Amazon page also explains that players will be able to dynamically switch between both Jason and Lucia, the protagonist duo in GTA 6, as well as participate in missions together which is how it worked in GTA 5. Then there’s also a short description of the world of Vice city:
“MOST LIVING OPEN WORLD: NPCs with routines of their own, random events, interactive establishments and greater sense of immersion.”
The Standard edition of GTA 6 will cost $80 while the Ultimate edition comes with a price tag of $100 which also includes a whole array of unlockables ranging from bonus story missions to in-game items, equipment and additional customization. And while the prices are certainly steep for a videogame but when you consider the colossal production value of GTA 6, they do start to feel pretty reasonable.
GTA 6 is slated to launch for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19 with pre-orders going on right now.
