Hollow Home might be one of the best demos available on the Steam Next Fest of 2026, at least the trailer gives me hope that the game is going to end up being amazing if everything goes well. So far, we only know that the game is coming in 2026, and it has been in the works for quite a while. People love creating, and small studios are pretty much the life blood of the industry, if we fail to respect them then the entire industry just falls apart. As with anything in this world, the very life blood of an industry is pretty much ourselves.

Funded via Kickstarter, Hollow Home is a project that promises a lot of cool stuff and for fans of games like Disco Elysium it is great to see this genre keep getting some bangers. I’m hyped to see where this whole game will lead to, as it has a big vibe on political and war themes. It does make me remember of amazing games like This War of Mine, and this new take on the genre might end up being what War related games need. Touching narratives often come from these types of games.
For the weak of heart, I don’t think I can recommend this game because it can be brutal, but there’s plenty of reasons you should try to at least see if it is for you. For one, games like this often have great value in their story and narrative plots that you just can’t find on other games, most of the time you will end up marked for life after having played them. Since games are art, I believe that the medium can be a wide umbrella that encompasses many things, Hollow Home is yet another piece of variety people should check out.
