Goblin Company is out, and so far its looking pretty good, this isn’t an early access release so for now don’t expect there to be massive updates or anything coming in a roadmap. This is a new indie PC game and it seems inspired by games like Deep Rock Galactic and other cooperative games out there, definitely chasing some trends but in a creative way. I feel like people should be able to create the games that they want to create, and if restricting themselves on what is popular works for them, then maybe they should try their idea. However, I can’t help but feel things are getting a bit derivative.

And its also rather cheap for the kind of fun it offers, I would genuinely get my hands on it if my friends end up playing it. There’s a ton of cooperative games out there and so little time to play them all, I feel like this one seems to have a modicum of quality to it at least for how it looks. Yapyap is another one that is quite popular with people thanks to the feature it has on chanting your spells via microphone. There has been many interesting ideas in the cooperative game genre.
Goblin Company is one of those interesting ideas too, and it currently sits on a 20% release discount that is very hard to pass on. Sadly it does not have a demo so people cannot know if the game is worth it or not, more developers should put emphasis on releasing demos to try things out so players can make an informed purchase, maybe they will do it later. If you are interested but don’t want to spend money and decide to wait on better discounts, you should wishlist Goblin Company.
