IO Interactive’s 007 First Light is off to a highly impressive start as the first James Bond title in more than a decade is now confirmed to have sold 1.5 million units in it’s launch day. With release date numbers this high, the action adventure title could very well turn out to be one of the biggest hits of this year, on this side of GTA 6, of course.
Developer IO Interactive confirmed the sales numbers in their official Twitter/X account yesterday, while stating the following: “1.5 million copies sold! Thank you for showing up to the launch of 007 First Light, for your overwhelming enthusiasm and for sharing your experience with the game. Play our re-imagined James Bond origin story today and #EarnTheNumber. Available now.”
007 First Light has also received it’s first patch which is pretty small but still contains multiple improvements and fixes to provide a more polished and bug-free gameplay experience. Weighing in at only 295MB in size, here are the full patch notes for the update:
007 First Light Patch 1.0.1 Release Notes
Bond & Moneypenny Elevator Scene Crash
Fixed a crash which occurred during a cutscene featuring Bond & Moneypenny after the Opening Credits (Title Sequence), at the beginning of “In His Majesty’s Secret Service”.
Guards Skip Confrontational Dialogue
Fixed an issue in Chapter 06 “Uninvited”, where guards would immediately become hostile and skip confrontational dialogue after Bond leaves the CCTV room.
M’s Office Cutscene Crash
Fixed a crash which occurred after leaving M’s office in Chapter 02 “A Night Out”.
Greenway (and other NPCs) Pathing Issues
Fixed an issue where Bond standing in Greenway’s or other NPC’s way would lead to pathing issues making them disappear or go through walls.
Returning to London Crash
Fixed a crash which occurred during a cutscene after the completion of Chapter 05 “Beyond the Grave”.
The game came out across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC on 27th and swiftly became the highest rated James Bond title in the last 15 years, or even more. With a highly impressive 87 Metacritic score, developer IO Interactive’s 007 First Light shines vividly and is certainly the best Bond game in several decades, at least.
