Resident Evil Requiem

Resident Evil Requiem has just received a major new update which adds photo mode along with a host of new improvements into the game including several bug fixes and gameplay improvements. The patch also improves character expressions during some in-game cutscenes “to better convey emotion” which means the main characters’ facial expressions will be even more believable and lifelike after the patch.

Normally you’d expect patches to only offer bug fixes and technical improvements but more realistic facial expressions is definitely a first so kudos to Capcom for going out of it’s way to make Requiem even better on a visual level.

The main highlight of the latest patch is definitely the photo mode which lets you play around with the field of view, control foreground and background blur, focus distance, character pose, expression, eye position, brightness, contrast, chromatic aberration and a lot more parameters. Plus you can also add frames, stickers and multiple visual filters which will provide even more personalization options for your in-game photos.

Check out the full patch notes:

All Platforms

  • Photo mode has been added. It can be accessed from the pause menu.
  • Fixed a bug that caused progress to be impossible under certain conditions.
  • Typographical errors in some languages have been corrected.
  • Character expressions in some cutscenes have been adjusted to better convey emotion.
  • A number of issues were fixed to improve gameplay.

Steam/Epic Games Store

  • Fixed visual bugs that occurred with some GPU drivers.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the game to crash in some circumstances.

Also, as reported previously, there’s much more to come in Resident Evil Requiem with a full story expansion, a mini-game and more contents set to arrive in the near future.

Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem has proven itself to be a massive success as the newly released action-horror title is now confirmed to have sold 6 million units, which makes it the fastest selling entry in the iconic and long running series.
