New DLC Revealed for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Along with Free Update

Yesterday was a huge day for the Dragon Ball franchise with several new updates announced in the Genkida Matsuri event in Japan catering to both the anime as well as videogames. And among all the new contents unveiled at the event, a brand new DLC for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero was also revealed featuring a fresh wave of characters that’s sure to liven up the game in more ways than one. The upcoming DLC will add the following characters in the roster of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero:

  • King Piccolo (Piccolo Daimao)
  • Super Saiyan Bardock
  • Super Android 17
  • Zangya
  • Devilman (Spike the Devil Man)
  • Mercenary Tao (Tao Pai Pai)
  • Grandpa Gohan (Son Gohan)
  • Lord Champa
  • Pikkon (Paihukan)

These diverse list of characters represent vastly different eras of the Dragon Ball series of anime and will appeal to a wide range of players which is great.

Also, check out the reveal trailer for the upcoming new DLC for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero which also teases new costumes and Super Attacks, new stages and a new mode.

There will also be a free update for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero which will add Mission 100 in the game and you can use your favorite characters to clear those sections. The update will be rolled out to all platforms including both Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch later this year.

Aside from the upcoming DLC, a new Dragon Ball game titled AGE 1000 was also announced at yesterday’s event, however details regarding the new game is unknown at this point.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero came out on 7th October 2024 for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC and was released on both the Nintendo Switch and the Switch 2 on November 14 this year. The game received mostly positive reviews from the critics and quickly became a huge commercial success with well over five million units sold worldwide.
