Halo: Campaign Evolved or the faithful remake of the classic first Halo title, is already set to release sometimes in next year but it seems remakes of both Halo 2 and Halo 3, or at least the single player campaigns of the two games, may also be in the pipeline. Originally revealed a couple weeks ago, there may be plans of remaking the single player campaigns of Halo 2 and Halo 3 along with a new mainline game complete with new multiplayer component, but now several other details are also added to the original claim which could be exciting news for all fans of the iconic franchise.
According to Rebs Gaming on Youtube, remakes of the entire Halo trilogy is in development right now, or at least the single player campaigns of the games with all the modern day technological advancements out there. Rebs has also mentioned Dan Gniady, the current lead game designer of the upcoming Halo: Campaign Evolved, teasing a complete remake of all three Halo games in one of his LinkedIn posts which reads: “Doing a game direction on a Halo Experience, Giving the Covenant back their bomb.” There is no official confirmation regarding any of this however so it’s worth taking this with a grain of salt.
In the video, Rebs Gaming also talked about one of the posts of TechnicalHalo from 2024 which states that Halo Studios has decided to resell the entire series as opposed to simply porting the current Halo Master Chief Collection on the Playstation 5 which would result in “a higher potential revenue,” with plans of remaking all the way from Halo: Combat Evolved to Halo 3. Rebs also confirmed speaking to a former Halo developer who has revealed that the studio is indeed in the process of remaking all the original Halo titles which does sound exciting.
Another source has confirmed that the reason behind remaking the original and beloved Halo titles is cause Microsoft and Halo Studios want to make sure that ‘Halo’s new era doesn’t fail,’ as making a whole new game could potentially draw criticism from fans of the original trilogy. However Rebs has stated that there are indeed plans for a new mainline Halo game along with whole new multiplayer components as well.
