Capcom celebrates 38th anniversary of the Mega Man series

Capcom is doing their best while working with the new Mega Man title. This new entry that is coming for PC is gonna be released hopefully in 2027 for the 40th anniversary of the saga. Yet, Capcom decided to celebrate now because our blue robot of justice deserves it, after being mistreated by its parent company for more than decade. Its been a while, but he is back, everyone was waiting since the release of Mega Man 11 in 2018 and it almost feels like a whole lifetime went by. It is crazy that the difference between 8 and 11 is more than 2 decades.

Capcom did the right thing

Bringing the Blue Bomber back will surely generate enough PR buzz for the company to keep being afloat and at top of the competitive chain. 2026 will have us receiving the Mega Man Star Force Collection, which is quite surprising since we didn’t see a Mega Man Legends Collection yet. I wonder if the last collection they will release is either one with some compilations of side games, or if Mega Man Legends is next, I really hope its the latter but the former would also be really good to get.

There’s so many games in the series, sometimes they even produced 2 Mega Man games per year, which was a crazy metric but justifiable when you realize how simple they are to make once you have the framework running. Of course, quality is a thing to keep in mind, level design isn’t an easy thing to do and not many people seem inspired nowadays to do it right. I believe that Capcom still has it in them to provide some amazing run and gunning action that no other company aside from Inti Creates can give us, I wonder what will be the main gimmick of Mega Man Dual Override.

Playground Games Confirms 15-to-20 Hour Campaign for Fable Reboot Playground Games has confirmed that the upcoming Fable reboot will feature a mainline story lasting between 15 and 20 hours. Speaking during a group press session at Gamescom 2026, associate game director Will Kennedy outlined the scope of the project, stating that the central questline is paired with a similar 15-to-20-hour block of side quests and open-world exploration. Beyond authored content, the developers emphasized that the title’s simulation and life systems allow for indefinite play depending on player investment. Full coverage of the interview context can be found in Polygon’s developer Q&A. This targeted duration keeps the reboot in line with the structure of Lionhead Studios' original trilogy rather than the massive scale of modern role-playing games. The 2004 original averaged roughly 12.5 hours for its main path, while Fable II and Fable III clocked in at approximately 13 and 13.5 hours respectively. By keeping the core path concise, Playground Games appears focused on density and narrative pacing rather than padding out the experience with mandatory filler. Community reception to the announcement has leaned positive, particularly among veteran players who prefer tightly structured campaigns over 100-hour commitments. As discussed in a active Reddit community thread, many players welcomed the focused runtime, noting that the series' signature alignment shifts and choice-driven paths naturally encourage multiple playthroughs. The game’s optional activities will include property ownership, local employment, and dynamic NPC interactions, extending gameplay well past the main story credits. Following previous delays, Fable is scheduled to launch on February 23, 2027, for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
